ST NICHOLAS v HARROW HIVE

The Middlesex FA Adult Cup programme got under way, after the Covid 19 shutdown with two first round Sunday Junior Trophy games. MFA photographer, Chris Benn chose to feature St Nicholas v Harrow Hive played at the well appointed LPOSSA ground in Harrow.
He chose well. The first half of a very entertaining game was evenly contested and at the interval the score was 1-1. Joel Sinclair put St Nicholas ahead in the 21st minute with a spectacular drive from outside the penalty area into the roof of the net. Safwan Ahmed equalised for Harrow Hive, 4 minutes before the interval, with a low shot. Seconds before the break Ryan Phillips almost restored the home team’s lead, when his free kick hit the crossbar.
Mark Stafford scored from wide on the right in the 49th minute to put St Nicholas 2-1 ahead. However, 4 minutes later, Nikil Bharrat beat the offside trap and took the ball around St Nicholas custodian, Geoff O;Sullivan, to equalize again. St Nicholas then killed the tie off with 3 goals (scored by Adam Bear, Mark Stafford and Joel Sinclair) between the 67th and 71st minutes.
Final Score 5-2.
The other match in this round resulted in a 2-1 home win for West London Warriors against Richmond Saints Reserves.
