  • Have an in date CRC check & Safeguarding Children qualification
  • Attend relevant meetings and CPD events

CAN YOU HELP OBSERVE OUR NEW/ AMBITIOUS OFFICIALS?

Observers are responsible for providing written and verbal developmental feedback to CFA promotion candidates. Observer reports help CFAs make decisions on whether candidates should be promoted or not.

To become an observer, you should have the following:

  • Be a qualified, registered referee
  • Attend the Referee Observer Course
  • Have an in date CRC check & Safeguarding Children qualification
  • Attend relevant meetings and CPD events

Frequently asked questions about referee mentoring and volunteering.

Just contact us with your name, where you live in the county, your age and availability.

There is no minimum requirement however we would recommend that you observe your assigned referee at least once a month. You will also need to be contactable by phone.

We will contact you using the details provided as soon as possible to let you know the status of your application. 

Any referee can be a Mentor but the more experience you posses the more relevant advice and support you can offer to other referees. It is also important that you are confident as a referee as you will be the first point of contact for the referee assigned to you if they need support.
