Middlesex FA is proud to announce that Ickenham Youth have been named as its England Football Accredited Club of the Month for April 2024.

Ickenham Youth F.C are a Three Star England Football Accredited Club from Hillingdon with over 40 teams and more than 600 players ranging from Under 5s to Under 18s. The club have a link with a local adult men’s team and are signed up to the FA Comets programme to grow their disability provision.

Founded in 2006 with just one boys’ team, they take great pride in doing things right, creating a safe and always fun environment for their youth players to learn and to develop, not just as footballers but as confident young people. The girls programme being their fastest growing sector and their boys’ section has 3 teams at almost every age group where they continue to grow and flourish as a club, run fully by volunteers.

All of the club's coaches either have or are working towards their FA Introduction to Coaching Football Qualification in line with the England Football Accreditation coaching criteria. They help to subsidise those struggling with the cost of living and offer SEND football sessions in the community, ensuring that everyone can feel a part of the Ickenham Youth family regardless of their situation.

Speaking to Club Development Officer Richard Spooner on what being England Football Accredited means to the club, he commented: “It ensures that we’re doing the right things, and that we’re being recognised by the County FA in doing the right things. It means a lot to us and we will always strive for the highest accreditation status we can achieve. We proudly use the Accredited logo on our club communications and the sleeves of our qualified coaches kit.”  

The club prides themselves in trying to always show best practice in everything they do, starting with the training ground and ensuring young people’s first experiences of football is a positive one. They ran their first ever tournament last Summer and are delighted to be hosting it again this Summer. Their inclusion in the HAP programme ensures the safe future of Ickenham Youth FC for many years to come, allowing them to continue to grow as a club.
