Whetstone Wanderers Win Under 12 Cup
Whetstone Wanderers attacked from the kick off and skipper Jacob Bland was tripped just outside the Wembley penalty area. The free kick was floated wide by the Wanderers number 11, who was unfortunately, not identified on the team sheet.
However, Wanderers went ahead in the 5th minute. Caspar Fusco hit a loose ball home from close range following a corner from no. 11. This proved to be the only goal of the game.
The Wembley captain, Theo Alexandrou, was prominent in the first half and tried several shots from long range. He was just too high in the 19th and 25th minutes and had a drive scrambled away for a corner just before half time.
He was through on goal in the 46th minute but he pulled his shot wide.
Whetstone’s Mikael Mouskoundi and George Taylor Yeates formed a pleasing move to break out of defence and create a promising chance but the latter was adjudged offside. Soon afterwards, George fired just wide.
Wembley keeper, Kacper Zapieracznski, saved low from George, after a good through ball by Caspar. Then, George was brought down just outside the penalty area but Mikael blasted the resulting free kick over the top.
Final score: Wembley Youth U12 0 Whetstone Wanderers U12 1
